Children's Mental Health Week 2023

SMILERS curriculum Launch - Ozzy the Owl visits school!

We pride ourselves in nurturing our children and actively teaching them the skills to be mindful and to regulate and maintain their own good mental and physical wellbeing. We do so through a Derbyshire initiated mental health and wellbeing scheme named SMILERS. Each letter os the word SMILERS represents a different area of wellbeing. Each Wednesday at 1pm, we promote Wellbeing Wednesday where classes will learn how to address each area of wellbeing.
Ozzy the owl made a visit to school to launch the curriculum and present our very first SMILERS awards in assembly!

Action for Children Wellbeing Ambassador Training 2022

Our Y5s joined forces with our sister school, Curbar Primary School, to take part in some joint Well Being training. The day was led by Emma and Cat from the 'Changing Lives' service at Lady Manners. The aim of the day was to increase awareness of how to look after our own mental health (and the stigmas attached) and to support others well being too. The day ended by looking at the Derbyshire SMILERS - seven ways to help ourselves and each other. A truly worthwhile day.
